The Pitu Rooms Salatiga Hotel is only 2.8 meters wide, what’s it like inside?

Salatiga

Pitu Rooms is known as the thinnest and slimmest hotel in Indonesia. There is a special sensation exploring the 2.8 meter wide hotel.

The hotel is in the center of Salatiga City, precisely on Jalan Sukowati No. 33. With a width of 2.8 meters, visitors must park their vehicles outside the hotel area.

Motorbikes are usually parked in the alley next to the hotel. Meanwhile, cars must be parked on the shoulder of the road.

“We have someone guarding the parking lot 24 hours,” said Pitu Rooms Supervisor, Oktaviani Rosita when met detikJatengThursday (21/3/2024).

Don’t imagine a luxurious lobby with wide glass doors when entering a flimsy hotel. The entrance is no more than 2 meters.

Inside, guests can immediately see a cafe with coffee beans placed in glass jars. The arrangement of chairs and tables plus the kitchen area on the first floor makes the atmosphere actually like a cafe.

The atmosphere starts to look like a hotel after we see the reception desk and various souvenirs displayed on the sides of the room. The hotel has 7 rooms located on the 2nd floor to the 5th floor.

Meanwhile, the 6th floor is provided as a restaurant and the 7th floor is a space for installations. A different sensation begins to be felt when we want to go to the room.

Whether taking the stairs or using the elevator, everything feels different compared to other hotels. For visitors who have never ridden an elevator that uses vacuum power, this will be an impressive experience.

“Our elevator uses vacuum, only fits 1 person and weighs a maximum of 100 kilograms,” he said.

The elevator is shaped like a capsule. Climbing it will feel like being pushed slowly with air, the elevator will occasionally stop until its final destination.

Going up the stairs is no less fun. Through the hollow stairs, visitors can see the atmosphere below dimly. Enjoying the interior design and various paintings along the way will make climbing six floors seem like nothing.

For information, the hotel is 9.5 meters long and 17 meters high. Even though the width is only 2.5 meters, the atmosphere of the room feels like a normal hotel room.

All facilities such as TV, wardrobe and toilet are complete in the room. The hotel rooms measure 2.4×3 meters.

Apart from its uniqueness, the view is also an advantage of the hotel. If the atmosphere is clear, there are three mountains that can be seen from the hotel restaurant. There are also rooms that offer mountain views from behind the windows.

View “This is also an advantage here, if it’s clear there are three mountains visible here,” said Rosi.
