Not Just Turning Off the Lights, Earth Hour Alila Solo Hotel Implements Sustainability for Renewable Energy

SOLO, MettaNEWS – Not only turning off the lights for 60 minutes, Alila Hotel Solo celebrates Earth Hour with a series of environmental care activities for renewable energy.

Alila Solo participated again in Earth Hour this year, Saturday (23/3/2024). Aims to increase awareness of environmental sustainability and encourage real action.

Alila Solo’s Marketing Communication Manager, Happy Mayorita, explained that Alila Solo opened the door to an environmental care community in Solo. Together with residents around the Jajar area and the Environmental Service to join in a series of activities.

“This series of Earth Hour activities aims to inspire and empower individuals to become agents of positive change in protecting the environment,” explained Happy.

Alila Solo also invited journalists, the community and stakeholders to see firsthand the hotel’s sustainable practices.

“We took the initiative to bring together media friends and communities who care about the environment. “To see firsthand the sustainability practices that Alila Solo has been working on so far,” he explained.

The event began with a hotel tour to see the rooms and equipment to support energy sustainability.

Such as liquid waste processing rooms, waste sorting rooms, absorption wells and other rooms.

“From the use of renewable energy to environmentally friendly waste management practices. “This tour provides in-depth insight into the hotel’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and preserve nature in the future,” explained Happy.

Happy said that Earth Hour is not just about turning off the lights at certain times.

“Because we believe that caring for the environment is not only during Earth Hour. “But it is sustainable, so this program introduces what efforts we carry out every day to maintain the sustainability of renewable energy,” he said.

Director of Engineering Alila Solo, Wijayadi guides this very interesting tour. Journalists and invited guests were shown a room that only Alila employees could enter on a daily basis.

Wijayadi explained that Alila Solo also has 40 infiltration wells to collect rainwater. So that it is not wasted or becomes a contributor to flooding.

Together with the environmental care community in Solo to celebrate Earth Hour with us. “Through this event we hope to strengthen awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and provide inspiration for individuals to take positive action to support sustainability,” he added.

On this occasion, Alila Solo also handed over trash cans to Jajar Village, Solo.

Closing the tour, Alila Solo and guests lit candles at the Candle Tree installation in the hotel lobby.

“This symbolic action will be a reminder of our shared commitment to protecting the earth and inspire concrete steps in everyday life to protect the environment,” concluded Wijayadi.
