There are Health Posts in All Hotel Lobbies for the Indonesian Hajj Pilgrimage

SURYA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – All hotels occupied by Indonesian Hajj pilgrims during the 2024 Hajj season will be equipped with satellite health posts (poskes). Mainly hotels occupied by pilgrims in Mecca.

This health service is a new policy from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) and the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) to bring health services closer to the congregation.

At the same time, it is an effort to anticipate health problems for the Hajj pilgrims in 1445 H/2024 AD, who are still dominated by the elderly.

“The health posts will be placed in hotel lobbies,” said Head of the Ministry of Health’s Hajj Health Center Lilik Mahendro Susilo, Saturday (23/3/2024).

With the existence of health posts in every hotel, pilgrims who feel they are experiencing health problems can immediately go to a clinic close to where they live.

“At every clinic there will also be health workers alerted. “Congregants can take advantage of this easily when experiencing health problems,” he continued.

Apart from satellite health posts, the Hajj Health Center continues to provide health facilities like previous Hajj seasons.

Namely health services for Hajj pilgrims from Indonesia who are placed at a number of points in each daker (work area). At Daker Makkah, Medina and Daker Terminal.

In Mecca, he was placed at KKHI and in five sector offices. Meanwhile in Madinah daker are placed in the KKHI office and five sectors. Juha at health posts operated at Madinah and Jeddah airports.

It was stated that health issues are still one of the issues monitored by the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Health. The reasons include the fact that there is still a high number of prospective Hajj pilgrims who are in the elderly category and have health risks.

This year’s Hajj season, approximately 241,000 Indonesian pilgrims went to the holy land. Of that number, there are approximately 45,000 elderly congregation members. (ufi)
