TRIBUNPONTIANAK.CO.ID, PONTIANAK – Hotel Gajahmada Pontianak is holding a Happy Silver Anniversary Hotel Gajahmada event located at Jalan Gajah Mada, Pontianak City, West Kalimantan, Saturday 23 March 2024.
General Manager of Hotel Gajahmada Pontianak, Suhendra, expressed that this activity was a form of thanks from the management for being able to show its existence in the hotel industry and continuing to exist since March 23 1999 until it is 25 years old, today.
“We say thank you because we are still loved by our friends and the community. We also want to continue working and want to give the best to the community,” he said.
The Gajahmada Hotel has been designated by the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) from the previous Melati Three Hotel to a Two Star Hotel and there was an increase in 2008 until now the Gajahmada Hotel holds the title of Three Star Hotel.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Gajahmada Hotel also proved that it was able to survive operationally in the midst of the economic crisis caused by Covid-19, and was even able to compete with new hotels that continued to emerge, especially in Pontianak City.

“This success certainly cannot be separated from all the staff who always work together, and always prioritize service quality and continue to innovate, as much as possible to support visitors’ needs,” said Suhendra.
Hotel Gajahmada Pontianak has also held several activities for this year’s Silver Anniversary. This includes holding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities with UPT. Mulia Dharma Social Home for Elderly Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (PSR-SLURP), lunch with all management and staff, blood donation social action, and breaking the fast with orphans.
Apart from that, to coincide with the Silver Anniversary, Hotel Gajahmada also introduced a new logo that is attractive and full of meaning.
“The new logo of the Gajahmada Hotel is shaped like a Tanjung Tree (Spanish cherry). One of the typical trees of Pontianak City for a long time. This tree has a deep philosophy, because it is known to have the meaning of durability, long life, greening the city, providing oxygen, shade, and even has “The fruit is beneficial for society,” he said.
Suherman also explained that the new logo element is in the form of a perfectly round circle which as a whole represents a form of perfection without beginning and without end. This will give the impression of being dynamic, moving, of quality, reliable and something perfect.
Then the choice of copper color in this new logo also reflects the spirit to continue moving forward, developing to be better, elegant and humble.
Meanwhile, the selection of fonts, logo writing and design style uses the Neo Classic concept which applies wisdom, ethics, manners and is also open to innovation and new trends.
“All of this is in line with the big hopes for this 25th anniversary. Namely, Hotel Gajahmada Pontianak can provide better hopes for the future in accordance with the company’s vision, mission and core values,” he concluded.
