TRIBUNJATENG.COM – Commemorating Earth Hour 2024, on Saturday 23 March 2024, Khas Semarang Hotel, which is one of the hotels managed by the Hotel Indonesia Group under the auspices of PT. Wijaya Karya Realty, took part in the movement initiated by the World Wide Fund (WWF) with the aim of saving the earth, protecting the environment, saving energy and reducing climate change.
Located in the Lobby area, the Earth Hour commemoration was carried out by lighting 60+ candles which are symbols of the campaign by all staff and management of Khas Semarang Hotel.
“Khas Semarang Hotel also carried out a power outage for 1 hour, starting at 20.30 – 21.30, and we invite all hotel guests to support this action together with us and all citizens of the world to work together to make the earth breathe freely for approximately one hour” said the General Manager of Khas Semarang Hotel, Mrs. Mariani Rakib.
He said that the lights were turned off at several points in the Hotel Public Area, Lobby, Khas Resto and all corridors.
This year’s Earth Hour activity aims to invite the public to increase awareness and concern about global climate change, so it is hoped that by participating in turning off the lights for one hour can be a way to protect the earth.
